This year, Old Orchard Beach will host it’s first Triathlon in August! “The Olympic distance comprises a .93 mile swim, 24.86 mile bike and 6.2 mile run and the Half Rev race is a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run. Both swim legs will take place in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The bike course starts out flat and fast before taking riders into a series of rolling hills, giving them the chance to experience the beauty of the surrounding Maine farmland and countryside. Tall pine trees provide shade over much of the course, which winds through Saco, Dayton, Lyman, Waterboro, Hollis, and Old Orchard Beach. The run course is an out-and-back, giving athletes the chance to finish out the race on a flat and fast course that includes sweeping views of the Scarborough Marsh and over a portion of the storied Eastern Trail. Athletes will cross the finish line in downtown Old Orchard Beach.” www.rev3tri.com
Come stay with your family at Hid’n Pines Family Campground for you pre and post triathlon festivities! It’s an easy half mile from the finish line and 7 miles of sandy beach!
