Hid’n Pines Fall Tours and 10K’s
We were very pleased to host a tour of Hid’n Pines Family Campground this past weekend for the Maine Campground Owner’s Association (MECOA) annual fall retreat! Each year, campground owners and managers from around our beautiful state get together in a different location to tour member grounds and facilities, discuss current issues/items affecting the camping industry, and take a much needed break to catch up and relax! It was really interesting to get an inside look at other campground’s offerings and setup, and the unique directions they’re heading for the future. We can all learn something from one another! This year’s gracious host was Hemlock Grove in Kennebunkport.
Touring Hid’n Pines with everyone was a treat. The clouds were just barely starting to roll in, but it was still perfect for a walking tour. We stopped at the office, toured through the popular 600’s premium plus section, and walked down the heart of the campground (my personal favorite) where all the more wooded tent sites are. We feel so lucky to be able to offer such a variety of options to suit just about any of our guest’s camping needs. The campground looks quite a bit different this time of year, but the beauty just changes with the seasons, and the peaceful feeling sticks around throughout the year as well.
Everyone was happy to participate in our photo a day, which was great! They even obliged when I naturally requested excitement and jazz hands. 🙂
MECOA Camping Guide:
Just in case you don’t already know/love it, MECOA publishes the gorgeous Maine Camping Guide each year (check us out on the back cover on this past year’s guide!), which is an incredible resource for camping and recreation information for the entire state of Maine. It’s available online and print. They break down the state’s camping offerings by region, which is very helpful to plan out your future Maine adventure. We’re proud to be a part of it.
Here’s a sneak peak of our brand new 2016 ad for the camping guide. What do you think?! Keep an eye out for us on the back cover again!
The Great Pumpkin 10K!
One last bit of bonus excitement from the weekend: the fabulous return of Team Hid’n Pines at this year’s Great Pumpkin 10K in Saco. We were worried about the chilly wind and rain earlier in the morning, but it turned out to be a gorgeous run and a perfect temperature once you got your blood pumping. The course started in Camp Ellis and ran all the way to Ocean Park and back. Perfect! Jason just barely missed 3rd place by only two seconds! All in all, a successful run for Team Hid’n Pines!
