October Off-Season Updates at Hid’n Pines
Welcome to our new Hid’n Pines Family Campground blog!
This week marks the official start to the off-season here at Hid’n Pines Family Campground. We have to say we miss our seasonal campers already. We often hear from our seasonal campers that the last 6 weeks of the season are some of the best. Hid’n Pines and Old Orchard Beach are at the peak of serene and peaceful. This year we were graced with gorgeous weather during the month of September and October. As much as we love the fun and excitement of the busy summer months, the fall reminds us how beautiful Maine is throughout the entire year.
Our doors may be closed but the grounds are anything but quiet. We all know the fall season can be very short in Maine and it almost seems like we transition straight from summer to winter and as such, we have a very short window to prepare our buildings and grounds for the long winter months. Our maintenance crew is currently working on winterizing all of the water lines throughout the campground. This is a lengthy task that usually spans over the course of two to three days. All is going well! The restroom #2 (near site 173) is moving along nicely! We’re very excited to show everyone the final product. We’ve taken a few progress photos as well, stay tuned for that!
In the office, we’re working through our lengthy (but fun!) fall task list. We’re making improvements and updates to our website, working on marketing (new, fresh logo design for 2016!), and planning ahead for our camping show season. The fall season may be short, but it is undoubtedly beautiful. We are thoroughly enjoying snapping photos each day. The brevity of fall beauty works to make it all the more incredible to experience and soak in. When you’re in New England, you don’t have to travel far to find yourself amidst a rainbow of fall color. Here are a few of the photos I’ve snapped throughout Hid’n Pines so far this fall. There is something truly special about the contrast of the bright fall colors against a blue sky.
Missing Hid’n Pines? Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8AM to 4PM. Call us with any questions you may have about seasonal sites, or 2016 reservations, or just to say Hello!
