There is something unique about Old Orchard Beach…
Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
Easily accessible from Boston and other points south in New England (you don’t even need a car if you take the Amtrak Downeaster), the closest sandy beach to our neighbors in Canada, Old Orchard Beach, Maine is a special destination with a loyal following. Those final two words are what strike me most as what’s unique and charming about this area, it’s truly loyal following.
One of my favorite parts of being in the office during the summer is seeing and sharing in our campers notable excitement at arrival. We love hearing their stories of past visits and adventures. You can sense the anticipation of new memories to come, which is so wonderful to witness. It’s nothing short of magic. It’s a family tradition, an annual getaway that is looked forward to for months and cherished until it’s time to return again.
I often hear stories from families that have been coming to Hid’n Pines and Old Orchard Beach for decades, starting as a kid with their parents, and now with their own children. My favorite is when I hear, “I’ve been coming to Old Orchard Beach longer than you’ve been alive!” We feel very lucky to share in such excited positivity during the camping season. There’s always something new to discover in the simple act of a vacation or getaway with those we love. The years pass, things grow and change, but the feeling you get when you visit this area stays the same.
Scanning through the hashtag #hidnpines on Instagram, and seeing your tagged posts on Facebook when you’re here make us smile! Keep that going this 2016 camping season! There’s nothing better than seeing our guests enjoy time spent at the campground, and in our favorite town, Old Orchard Beach. There is still time to submit your photos for this month’s photo contest!
What’s YOUR story?! We would love to hear it in the comments section below!
