Today’s Old Orchard Beach Sunrise and more winter-less updates!
It’s hard to believe that the first day of winter is two days away, and that the Christmas holiday is right behind in just 5 days. I think most of us have given up on the dream of a white Christmas for 2015, that is unless you’re further north! Out of curiosity, I looked ahead at the 10 day forecast to see if winter was in fact on it’s way at some point. The answer to that is a resounding, no. Check this out:
The warmest days on the 10 day Old Orchard Beach forecast are for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! How is everyone feeling about this winter heat wave? They’re announcing temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s for those two days. It’s wild. We ARE winter lovers in the office at Hid’n Pines and do miss the snow, however, we’re outdoor lovers in general and are making the most of these warmer temperatures! We hope you are too! I jogged downtown this morning to capture the sunrise for everyone!
The very un-winter-like temperatures are enabling our crew to REALLY knock off some great projects around the campground. It’s always nice to get ahead on your to-do list. We’re excited to reveal our new Hid’n Pines 2016 site map where you’ll see that we’ve made significant utility upgrades (basic to water, electric, cable and more) around the campground. Specifically around restroom#3 to the right of the orchard.
We also planted grass seed throughout the campground and are so pleased to see it growing (in December!) and taking so well from the beginning, establishing strong roots before winter actually arrives. This will make for an easier spring, we hope! Take a look at this picture, it almost looks like it could be the month of June!
I would say there is still a small window of time for last minute Hid’n Pines gift certificate purchases. If you call our office tomorrow, I personally promise to mail it right out to you before the end of the day! 🙂
The annual Old Orchard Beach Lobster Dip is right around the corner! Click here to support the wonderful team Hid’n Pines at this chilly event for a great cause! The proceeds go to benefit the Special Olympics of Maine. The event happens at high noon on January 1, 2016. Join us!
